The Fellow Espresso Tamping Mat creates a stable and clean workspace for one of the most important steps in espresso preparation: tamping. Made entirely of cushioned, non-slip silicone, the mat provides a reliable surface for the portafilter while simultaneously protecting your countertop.

Tamping involves applying pressure to the portafilter. The soft silicone surface prevents direct contact with hard work surfaces and ensures the mat does not slide around unnecessarily during use. This creates a stable foundation for controlled and reproducible puck preparation.

Measuring 255 × 165 mm, the mat offers sufficient workspace while remaining compact enough for smaller coffee stations. The integrated circular recess is particularly practical, allowing the tamper to be stored within easy reach between steps. This promotes a tidy workflow and gives every essential tool its own designated spot.

The Fellow Tamping Mat is also easy to clean: the silicone used is dishwasher-safe, allowing coffee grounds and other residues to be removed quickly.

With its minimalist design, the mat blends seamlessly into modern espresso setups and complements other Fellow accessories in particular.

Application

Lay the Fellow Espresso Tamping Mat flat on a clean work surface. Position the portafilter on the silicone mat for tamping and compress the coffee grounds with your tamper as usual.

The integrated circular recess serves as a handy tamper rest, keeping the tamper within reach between steps.

Cleaning & Care

The Fellow Espresso Tamping Mat is dishwasher-safe, making it particularly easy to clean. Alternatively, loose coffee grounds can be brushed off and the silicone surface cleaned by hand.
