FAQs
What should you consider when buying a kettle?
There are a few criteria to consider when buying a kettle. One important point is the capacity. Here you should decide according to your personal needs. You can choose from models with 700 ml and kettles with a capacity of up to 1.2 liters. For pour-over preparation, kettles with a gooseneck are the perfect choice so that you retain full control when pouring during the brewing process. If, on the other hand, you only drink tea and want to prepare a hot water bottle from time to time, we recommend a tea kettle with a wide spout. A final but not unimportant point when choosing is of course the appearance. In addition to models with a timeless, modern design, there are also many products with a charming retro look.
How do I clean my kettle?
Just like your electric kettle, you should descale your kettle regularly. To do this, you can use vinegar or a commercially available liquid or powder descaler and boil it in your device. Then rinse well with water and simply remove any residue inside with a cloth. You can wipe the outside with a damp cloth.
Why is a gooseneck kettle recommended?
A model with a gooseneck is the right choice if you like to brew your cup of coffee fresh by hand. Thanks to this special spout, you can precisely measure the water during the brewing process and have full control over the water flow. This is especially important for manual brewing methods, such as when preparing coffee with a hand filter or Chemex. This is why many electric cookers are now also equipped with such a gooseneck.
