FAQ
How many spoons of coffee per cup of filter coffee?
As a guideline, you should use around 12 grams of ground coffee for a 200ml cup. This corresponds to approximately one coffee measuring spoon, depending on the capacity of the spoon. A coffee scale will help you to measure the exact amount.
What should I pay attention to when preparing filter coffee?
It doesn't take much to make good filter coffee. In addition to good coffee, you need a kettle or water boiler, suitable coffee filters and a coffee maker. We recommend using freshly ground coffee beans for the preparation. It's best to use a precision scale to weigh your coffee beans, as these are usually more accurate than conventional kitchen scales.
When using manual brewing methods, such as the hand filter or Chemex, it is recommended to rinse the coffee filter with water beforehand to remove the filter's own taste. The water used for brewing should be neither too hot nor too cold so that the coffee does not become too bitter or too flat. The optimal brewing temperature is 92-96°C.
What is the best way to store my coffee?
It is best to store the opened bag in an airtight container in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a cupboard. The coffee should not be stored in the fridge or near spices. The best place to store it is in a coffee tin that can be sealed airtight. There are so-called vacuum containers for coffee beans, which you can use to create a vacuum by turning or pressing after closing. This has the advantage that your coffee beans do not come into contact with oxygen and the aromas last longer.
