Coffee Press for slowing down in everyday life

Why Palmpress?

The idea for the Palmpress came about when Jess, the developer of the Coffee Press, wanted to improve her coffee routine. To achieve this, she studied people and their everyday lives intensively. This led her to the conclusion that, when it comes to good coffee, the pause you take to prepare it is just as important as the coffee itself and its preparation method. With the modern coffee press, she wants to create a special moment in everyday life. In addition to Jess, TechHouse and Clark are also behind the American brand Palmpress.

Palmpress mit CAPTN Coffee Guatemala Filterkaffee

French press-style coffee in just a few steps

The Palmpress is a full immersion brewer with its functionality. Just like theFrench PressHere, coffee and water are mixed, and after a short rest period, the coffee grounds are separated from the freshly brewed coffee using a metal filter or plunger. Unlike a paper filter, this brewing method infuses fats and oils into your coffee, making it particularly aromatic and strong.

Unlike many French presses, the Palm Press is ideal for traveling. Its compact size means it doesn't take up much space in your bag or backpack. In terms of taste and quality, however, the compact coffee press is in no way inferior to the French press. Furthermore, with this preparation method, the coffee doesn't come into direct contact with plastic, but only with silicone and stainless steel. It's also 100% BPA- and phthalate-free.

Questions & Answers

How does the preparation work?

As with all other preparation methods, the palm press requires ground coffee and hot water. First, add both ingredients to the palm press and let the water-coffee mixture steep for three minutes with the lid closed. Then, carefully turn the coffee maker upside down, place it on the cup, and slowly press down.
For cold brew, simply add ground coffee and room-temperature water to the coffee maker and close the lid. Then let it steep overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature, ideally for 12 hours. Then, turn the coffee maker upside down, place it on the mug, and press down.

How much ground coffee should I use to prepare it?

If you don't have a precision scale at home to measure the coffee and water, simply use the markings provided inside the Palmpress. You'll find the appropriate markings inside for the optimal amount of coffee and water. One brew yields approximately 240 ml of coffee.

What are the differences compared to the AeroPress?

The two coffee makers are very similar in terms of functionality, but differ primarily in design and the filters used. While the AeroPress typically requires a paper filter, the PalmPress is equipped with a reusable stainless steel filter. This creates a difference in flavor. It also reduces waste when making your coffee.
Another difference is that with the Palm Press, your coffee doesn't come into direct contact with plastic or rubber, but only with silicone and stainless steel. While the Coffee Press also contains plastic, it's only on the outside of the lid.
