What you should pay attention to when choosing a grinder

Everything depends on the grinder, as it is the heart of every grinder. The most important thing is that it grinds the coffee beans gently without generating excessive frictional heat: heat destroys the aroma, which can lead to a bitter taste in the coffee. A good grinder should also grind as evenly as possible, producing coffee particles that are as uniformly sized as possible. This is the only way to extract the aroma evenly during the brewing process. Coffee grinders with a disc grinder or a conical grinder are particularly recommended. The former are made of robust stainless steel or ceramic and have two concave discs that can be adjusted depending on the grinding level. Coffee grinders with a conical grinder are particularly recommended, as these grind the beans particularly gently, generating only minimal frictional heat. We therefore generally recommend hand-held coffee grinders with a conical grinder.
