Collection: French Press

The French press, also known as the press jug, coffee press or press jug, has been very popular for decades. One reason for this is the easy handling and the quick preparation of the coffee. All you need for this preparation method is a French press, ground coffee and hot water. After a short brewing time, the coffee grounds are pressed down using the so-called stamp. Afterwards you can enjoy your coffee. The direct contact between water and coffee powder makes your coffee from the coffee press particularly intense and aromatic. FAQs

<tc>How does coffee preparation work with the French Press?</tc>

With the coffee press you can enjoy delicious coffee in just a few minutes without much effort. All you have to do is grind your coffee, put it in the pot and pour hot water over it. After a short brewing time of about four minutes, just press the stamp down slowly and evenly and you can enjoy your coffee. Particularly practical: This preparation method has a short brewing time and does not require any paper filters. The stamp, which is equipped with a metal sieve, is used to separate coffee grounds and coffee. As a result, oils and fats are not filtered out, so that the coffee from the coffee press tastes a little stronger and more intense. For this reason, a medium to coarse degree of grinding is recommended for this preparation. If there is still some coffee left in the pot after pouring a cup of coffee, you should decant it to stop the brewing process. If you leave it in the coffee maker, your coffee will be bitter.

<tc>How many teaspoons per 1 liter French Press?</tc>

With this preparation method, approx. 60-65 g of coffee are recommended for 1 liter of water. A heaped tablespoon holds about 10 g, special coffee spoons 7-12 g. We therefore recommend that you use a suitable precision scale for dosing the coffee powder.

<tc>What grind should I choose for the French Press?</tc>

For the preparation in a stamp pot, you should choose a medium to coarse grind. This guarantees a slow and even extraction, so that your coffee is particularly intense. However, how coarse you grind your coffee beans also depends on how long you let your coffee steep. The ideal brewing time for this preparation method is four minutes.
